Caasi O’Day has almost two decades of experience working in the mental health field. Caasi has worked with adolescents in the juvenile justice system, women and children experiencing domestic violence and the homeless. She spent several years working with severely emotionally disturbed children and their families in the foster care system. During this time she aided numerous families with reunification. She also created support groups and training classes for parents to help them navigate the difficult task of parenting.
In 2012, Caasi began receiving training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). She went on to design and facilitate an intensive outpatient Dialectical Behavioral Therapy based program. This program served hundreds of adults suffering from debilitating depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation and self-harming behaviors. In 2014 she served as a mentor to other clinicians and assisted in the creation of an adolescent DBT based program as well.
Caasi has received training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems and Cognitive Processing Therapy.
DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) Groups
DBT is a modified type of cognitive behavioral therapy. Its main goals are to teach people how to live in the moment, develop healthy ways to cope with stress, regulate their emotions, and improve their relationships with others.
